GRDADOT ZELEN
Eye Cue feat. Toni Zen
Everyone that had grew up in Macedonia after the year of 1963, knows the legendary song “Gradot ubav” (The beautiful city”). The song was composed by Macedonian composer, Aleksandar Dzambazov, shortly after the devastating earthquake that hit the city of Skopje the same year.
The song lyrics give message of hope that the city will grow beautiful and joyful again from its ashes. For the last 50 years this song has been played at the opening of the most famous national children music festival, "Golden nightingale”.
Inspired by the striking enthusiasm and the message of solidarity, unity and empathy that mark that post-earthquake period, today we feel need to evoke new message of hope – for our green city to sprout again.
